……,……
Dear Nick,
Wishing you all the very best for your Atlantic voyage. Hope you get fair winds (up your arse) and gentle seas behind you pushing you along. You and the rest of the crew should do well as you are all seasoned seamen and despite the years the three of you clock up you are all fit and age does not always make the difference between ability and not being able to do something as well as someone younger. The youngest chap, some years ago, on the boat from Beer in Devon who had his 21st birthday just before reaching Antigua could hardly walk when he got ashore. On the otherhand, Roz Savage who crossed single handed in the same race was skipping around on her boat and was fine when she got ashore. Not sure how old she was at the time but she was certainly quite a bit more than 21.
Congratulations on persevering in getting the whole show together, boat, crew, funding, etc. etc., no mean feat I am sure especially when a lot of people think you must all be “crackers” to take it on.
Hope you have a good flight over and that all goes well on the voyage. The start will be incredibly exciting and wish we could be there for it but will be in the Dockyard for your finish. We are all so proud to have our own to cheer on.
Lots of love and all of you take care,
Jenny
